Si Yay Lum is a wonderful place for new tenters. It is located in a grassy glade in the forest.

SETTING:


• An ideal site for introducing campers (guider and/or girls) to tenting. Si-Yay-Lum bridges the gap between residential and pioneer camping. The site is situated a short walk up from the beach in a beautiful naturally forested area.


MAXIMUM SLEEPING CAPACITY:


• 36 people


FACILITIES:


• 9 canvas ridge tents on wood platforms (ample room for 4 plus gear in each)
• Large shelter
• tables and benches for eating or crafts
• wood burning fireplace
• commercial stainless steel kitchen
• hot and cold running water
• leaders' wash room, 2 showers
• drying room
• storage room with barbecues, fire buckets, brooms, rakes, axes, etc
• Girls' flush toilets in separate building (basin with cold water only)
• Campfire pit with log rounds for seating
• Flag pole and Canadian flag




• Refrigerator with top freezer
• Commercial propane stove with 6 burners, 2 ovens and 1 grill
• 1 triple sink, 1 double sink, extensive stainless draining board/counter space
• Walk in pantry
• Island counter with storage drawers
• 2 cabinets for storage (dishes etc. for 36)


FIRE PROTECTIONS AIDS;


• Water buckets to be placed by each tent and at the shelter entrance
• 2 fire extinguishers; one by kitchen, one by main entrance
• Air horn (3 long blasts: emergency use only)
• garden hose attached to external tap


PARKING


• One car on site facing downhill the rest in parking lot on main road
